"Spring Eternal" is one of the most colorful scens of Texas Bluebonnets that Robert W. Wood painted during his long career. The painting dates to the early 1960s, when Wood was at the peak of his artistic powers and fame. Depicting a broad field of Blue Lupin on one of the old pioneer ranches in the Texas Hill Country, this work is one of the finest wildflower paintings that Wood produced. In perfect condition.

"Spring Bouquet" is a colorful early Texas painting by Robert Wood. It was painted about 1930 when Wood was establishing himself as a San Antonio artist. This painting is unusual in that it has a broad field of Lupin in the foreground and a contrasting lavendar field - most likely verbena - in the center of the composition, with the "Golden Hour" light illuminating the rolling hills of the Texas Hill Country. With the foreground in shadow and the rest of the painting illuminated by the late afternoon light, this is a particularly striking work, and one of the finest medium-sized Texas scenes that we have had over the past forty-five years.
