This intimate study of blooming wildflowers depicts Mt. San Jacinto or Mt. San Antonio in the background. It is a plein-air painting that was hidden away by Wood's wife Caryl so he wouldn't sell it - ending up in the estate collection.

This little gem was part of Robert Wood's estate. It was done as an enjoyable exercise in painting a miniature - much like Wood did in the beginning of his career.

“Golden Cove" is a small gem of a Robert Wood marine. Painted in the early 1960s, it is a "plein air" work done in Laguna Beach, California. Well-composed with beautiful sunset color, it is painted on a small panel.
